Problem
HealthPort needs a dashboard that provides users with information and filtering options to find the facility closest to them with the medical assistance and devices they need.
Design Challenge
How might we create a dashboard that allows users to see the availability of oxygen supplies in their area? How might we incorporate equipment data and hospital location information?
Solution
Create a detailed dashboard for users that displays all hospitals that HealthPort provides oxygen supplies to, and a live update on if resources are readily available.

Comparative Analysis
Our research revolved mainly around six comparators in the healthcare industry such as CVS Minute Clinic and Kinwell Health.
We compiled the research into a task analysis and feature inventory.

Site Flow
Additionally, I created a site flow of the Kinwell Health location dashboard to better understand what goes into creating a successful and user-friendly dashboard.
User Research
Interviews revealed that knowing if a healthcare provider in the area has a current supply of oxygen tanks is next to impossible without having to check in person.
We conducted 6 interviews with users who have had personal or second-hand experience with needing medical care. Through synthesis, we discovered that users need a digital platform with a live list of healthcare providers that have a current supply of oxygen tanks.
User 1
“If the first hospital we go to doesn’t have oxygen available, we have to go around and find another one that does”
User 2
“The process for a child to get oxygen can take up to 5-7 days”
User 3
“I will never forget the moment when the doctor told us that having access to oxygen quickly is what saved my child’s life”
Concept Sketches
After referencing our feature inventory list, I conducted multiple rounds of design studio and I narrowed it down to the final design for both the dashboard home page and location page.
Initial Wireframing + Testing
In order to see if the dashboard was intuitive for users, I conducted 2 rounds of usability testing with 10-15 users for each round. In both rounds of usability testing, users were asked to:
1) Switch the dashboard from map view to list view
2) Navigate through to find a hospital that has oxygen available
3) Find the resources page and click through each category

Opportunities For Improvement
After the first round of testing, there we three main callouts from the users that all pertained to icons + buttons
• Most users hesitated when asked to switch from map to list view
• The current icons indicating if oxygen was available were not intuitive
• It was not clear if the additional resources page was a separate tab

Second Iteration
The second round of testing proved to be more intuitive across the board
• It was instantly clear to users which hospitals had a current oxygen supply
• Users were able to quickly switch between map + list view when navigating
• Having a banner for the resources page made users more inclined to inspect further
